You need to look far and wide to get a more stylish espresso machine than the Nespresso C120, also commonly called the Citiz & Milk. Finding and easier or safer coffee maker will also present a hard task. In fact, to get its equal, you will most likely have to buy another Nespresso model.

For pros, the C120 creates a lovely cup. Nespresso coffee buyers do find good beans for their capsules. The beans are ground and packaged to a great consistency and are very tasty. But, since the coffee is the fundamental part, some coffee brewers think Nespresso’s limited choices are to few.

The C120 uses Nespresso’s proprietary coffee capsule system. These sealed aluminum pods ensure the grounds are free from air contamination. They are also super easy to use, clean up and are recyclable. The limitation for some though is Nespressos smallish dozen or so blends, plus some Limited Editions that vary now and again.

For example, the Finezzo, this is a lighter blend created from fine Arabica beans from the high Central American plantations. Or at the other end of the scale, the Ristretto, is a full bodied blend of Arabica beans from Columbia and Brazil mixed with a dash of dark East African beans.

While the Nespresso range covers all main tastes some espresso lovers are ever curious. Of course they have their favorites. But they are always looking for the next great bean. With a C120 you can’t do this as you can only use the Nespresso capsules. There is not a way to take 3rd party or home made grounds and put them in a pod.

But if this is not a problem for you, and many coffee lovers are fine with a limited yet quality choice then the C120 is a very good choice.

For starters, like the other Nespresso coffee maker models it has great looks. The C120 in particular is a beautiful design effort.

With fire engine red, black or steel color, cylinder and plus sidecar, all in all it is a stunning looking counter top appliance.

It’s also incredibly simple to operate, as with the other Nespresso machines, it’s 99.9% foolproof. Really, all you do is pop in the capsule, fill with water and press the on button.

If you prefer milk in your coffee it’s no problem. You simply pour the amount of milk you want into the milk chamber and then turn on.

Plus, despite this simplicity, you are able to make a number of styles of coffee too. Espresso is the standard options but you can also make latte or mocha using the Aeroccino system. And, these other styles are very low effort. No need to grind, tamp or adjust anything.

This sheer convenience is exactly what takes the fun out the whole process for some espresso lovers. The more hardcore coffee makers really want to search for special and new beans and blends. They want to grind, tamp and adjust settings. If you are such a home baristas, the Nespresso C120 is not a good choice, except maybe as a reserve machine for “basic” cups.
